The laws of Physics. I may only have been studying the laws of physics for a short time now.But when I first got interested in them was when a professor told me that I needed a class in what I was talking about. This was a Free Energy device that is powered by magnets. He said it will not ,can not and will fail. Because the laws of physic says so. Never cared for that (can't) word. Fact when ever someone tells me it can't be done or that I can't do something , it just rubs me the wrong way. So I started reading physics and gathering all the information I could. Seeing and reading all these people saying .."The laws of physics says you can not get more power out of something then it takes to run it. Things like ,There is no such thing as Free Energy, or No such thing as Over-Unity. Now even with out any knowlage of physics .I know that you can get power from the sun ,wind,and moving water. These 3 power sources do not cost money. So and I still do not buy the "That is not Free Energy because ..Bullshit. Look..Might not be free for you. But I don't spend a dime getting it. So it's Free for me. This began the thing. Someone is lying. Who and Why ? Who does free energy affect in the big picture,Who sub-stains the biggest lost. Well that's pretty easy. Your friend and my nightmare.The government. Now it really starts to come together. I have found out that not only dose Free Energy exist,But has for years. And I did not need a class on physics. But I am glad he said that. Only of lately has the pot been turn so much that the truths are slowly rising to the surface. The book of laws are carefully written and many pages were never put in. Just as I have always said. It's like looking for an answer from google. They answer your question with a question. Keeps you looking in circles and the answer never truly comes up. Well facts are he did hes evaluation basted on 1 system and without any adjustments to the vehicle. This type of report is bogus to say the least and shows lack of mechanical knowledge. How PopularMechanics could let a report out like this is in not only my opinion but many others as well, Bad for the true DIY consumer and public in general. Here are the true DIY public reports on how HHO dose improve your millage and emissions in all types of vehicles. As with any good report you must do you base report on a variety not just one mans knowledge.Especially if he dose not do the report correctly and lacks mechanical knowledge.Fact is; More efficient fuel increases efficiency.With all types of motor modifications you can not just replace something, in this case your fuel and expect a change.It's like adding bigger tires to your car and expecting the gear ratio to remain the same.It simply dose not work like that. 1. Excuse me for asking, but how can a 10% plus mpg increase on trucks pulling trailers be viewed as a placebo effect? It sounds as if Mike is saying truckers can get that 10% increase by changing their driving habits. It is obvious that He has never been a truck driver.

Bear in mind that these mods were simply fitted to internal combustion engines designed to be run on Gasoline - perhaps a dedicated hydrogen engine would yield far better figures. But to dismiss it from the outset - (even in the title) only after limited tests seems a little fool hardy.

I am confused, we had a HHO torch at work, it used distilled water and salt, but let me tell you it got hot, and cooled very quick, I spent 41 years in this type of work, and it seem possible that this would work, I take exception on using stainless steel instead of copper,I would think you would need a mixture that would not clean out the sludge,doing so on a older car could cause the carbon buildup on the rings to break loose then causing oil burning, as well as maybe some leaks, at GMI they said you never flush an old engine with a engine for the same reasons above, but I am going to do a little more research with a EE and a EM as well with a new GMI person, if this doesn't work how are the mfgs. going to develop this?

5. There are a lot of free plans on the Internet on how to built a jet engine. That doesn't mean that your friend Steve Ru more at Avalanche can built one that will work right! Those who built it because they want it to work will make it work, those who want it to fail will make it fail!

6. I have installed a water4gas system in my street rod. It has a carburetor and no ECU. My fuel economy has gone from 10MPH to 15MPH. That's a 50% increase! It works when done correctly. There are issues when installed in a car with a computer controlled fuel system. There are ways around the ECU, but they are still rather crude.

7. How many rookies are going to take this technology and bash it? You people don't understand why HHO increases fuel mileage. Grant it, trying to run on pure HHO is not going to work if you're producing it on the fly, but it will increase the mechanical energy output of a piston engine that uses hydrocarbon fuels. Here's why: The HHO fuel burns a lot faster than hydrocarbons. In the combustion chamber, HHO has already turned back to water before the hydrocarbon is finished burning. The water when formed is hot, but not as hot as the hydrocarbons can make it. HHO burns at lower temperatures than hydrocarbons. Therefore, as the hydrocarbons continue to burn, the water absorbs some of the heat and then expands. This converts heat energy to mechanical energy and makes the piston engine more efficient. Piston engines are only about 25 to 33 percent efficient. The HHO gas ups the efficiency enough to increase the overall output of the system. Renault discovered this back in the early '80s when they injected water into the engine to offset the excessive heat produced by turbo-chargers. They found that the water not only cooled the combustion chamber, but also converted some of the heat to mechanical energy - thereby increasing the engine's efficiency. The whole point of an internal combustion piston engine is to convert heat energy to mechanical energy. HHO helps in this process. Measuring the heat output of HHO verses the electrical power input is not the point. The point is getting more mechanical work from the heat energy. To some who tinker with HHO this looks like over-unity (getting more out than you put in), but it's not really. Without the hydrocarbons, you lose the appearance of over-unity. Burning just HHO will never achieve over-unity, but adding it to your fuel will get you better fuel mileage... if you do it right. That means using PWM circuits, which increase the power-in to gas-out ratio; babblers, which reduce the amount of water vapor, etc.; one-way valves, to prevent back-fire explosions; a relay of some type that turns the HHO generator off when the engine isn't running; and other safety precautions. HHO isn't free energy, but it can save you a lot over the long run. And we all know that gas will never be $1.00 a gallon again. I hope this clears a few cobwebs.

Vehicles with ecu's mostly post 95 are notoriously hard to get any mpg improvement without fitting more gizmo's.The most excellent results with HHO have been with older motors,there is so much crap spoken about this hho bizniz! people who say it can't work ,people who will sell you some piece of crap on the net who say this will work and it doesn't!or fall to pieces.everyone has an agenda,including ME! Now I have an old 2.5 diesel motor home lwb transit, yes I've fitted a hydrogen fuel cell....no I don't know hardly anything about science ,I used to get about 25-27mpg..now it does 50mpg! now I'm no mechanic, I'm a carpenter,unless I'm mistaken and it did 50mpg anyway ,then again I don't think u will find many 18ft fully loaded RV's that will do this!so I guess I'm just another HHO nutter who's lying.bye now FLYINGDOC.

9. This test is true depending on the vehicle you test it in. Usually from my experience it has been on any car above about 1992 did not work at all. However I have a 1969 camaro that runs on an edelbrock 650 carb. This increased my MPG from 13 to 17. I put a direct port into the carb in the front

10. Hydrogen is the primary reason for buying and using most all fuels. Most are mixed with Carbon. There has to be a way to extract H from water and make it work. All of the HHO units we see out there are made for on-demand. Heck, Methane, natural gas is HC4 yet is DOES work as a fuel. The carbon is only a package. H and O are the real fuel & enabler. Should be able to push HHO into a combustion engine and get it to work exclusively. There's a guy in the Philippines who has converted over 100 motors of varying size to exclusive HHO fuel. Most are not fuel injected though - but it does work.

11. While I read your DOWN grade on this HHO, I wonder if you are working with the oil company's. I am a 33 year old auto tech and I am also very Leary of such products or claims. However I built my own (cheap to start) HHO GEN and tested it on my 94 camaro. MPG in city went up, from 19 to 24 mpg and hwy went from 24 to 34 mpg!! So as to your claim that HHO does not work, I will rebut you and say you are not RIGHT!! I have now built a new design and now I am getting 24 city and 38 hwy!! Nothing but a simple HHO sys, no elec devices, no enhancers for 02 sensors, nothing but a simple HHO gen. I also tested the draw on the alternator, less than 2 amps!! So are far as I can see you are either working for the oil companies trying to scare people off by using POPULAR SCIENCE as a name. I will even offer you the time to come to me and we will disconnect it from my car and drive and get the MPG and then we will connect it and do it again, and I will PROVE to you that it works!! However, if you decide to take my offer, I will have a TV station filming this as to PROVE that you my friend are a FRAUD for oil companies and that HHO does work. So, ready to accept?? I know you won't because that would ruin your name and you would have to REBUT all you said, then you would lose your job!!! But my offer is up for you to decide. 12. Mr. Allen have you seen all the comments that have been made about how wrong you are on this subject of HHO gas? I think you all ready know that this is a good way for all of us little people trying to save a dollar to get better gas mileage and save money. But the problem is the big boy’s can’t totally control WATER. You are a very smart guy there is no way that you can not see the benefit of this to every man woman and child on earth. I can and I'm not as smart as you. In fact I believe you do see and because of your position and job you do what you’re told to do by someone who wants to control the minds of your readers by giving the thumbs down on this. Well every one reading this just realize one thing the politics of this is much more complicated than having cars run on water or mustard or ketchup anything else other than BIG OIL. That sir is the real reason why you and others like you debunk new proven ideas so readily and freely. SHAME ON YOU Mike Allen.

That's the Oxygen and hydrogen recombining back into water...I can shoot a 2 liter bottle 150 feet in the air using HHO gas- NEVER get that from steam. The naysayers will continue their rants and raves and hissing and spitting. The rest of us will continue to experiment and develop even better, more efficient HHO generators and HHO kits for people who want real results.
